Retro 1991 Away Shirt
The clubs association with yellow goes way back to the early 60s when Palace’s lucky away kit was adopted for its home outings.
Story of the season: Palace were riding on three remarkable highs by the time they reached 91/92: promotion in 89, the FA Cup final in 90, finishing third in 91 and, of course, claiming the Zenith Data Systems trophy that same year. 1991/92, then, was never going to beat its predecessors.
That said, it was no failure, with the Eagles finishing in a respectable 10th place to secure their berth in the inaugural Premier League.
The finest hour: A 3-2 win over Oldham Athletic: Ian Wright’s final game for Crystal Palace. Appropriately, Wright netted on this occasion and so did strike partner, Mark Bright. A fitting end to a fine time in south London.
